KILLERCON 2025: A weird, wild, wonderful weekend
Everyone knows Joe Lansdale. But this weekend I had the rare pleasure of sharing a vendor's table with one of the masters of genre literature.
Here's a picture of our books sitting together.
Big shout out to Kasey Lansdale for helping get the table set up. I know it was not ideal but we made it work in spite of the extreme temperatures. If you love genre books then you should check out the curated PANDIPACK for your next best read.
Congrats to James Oliver for crushing it in the Gross-Out Contest. And congrats to all the splatterpunk award winners. It was a little like being in Jurassic Park since there were no "dinosaurs on the dinosaur tour" due to a scheduling issue with Books and Brews, but it was cool to hear who won this year even if we couldn't see them.
Finally, I'd like to say that Joe Lansdale's Guest of Honor speech struck a nerve in me. If you were there and it didn't strike a nerve in you then you weren't paying attention. Remember, "Horror is the ghetto of fiction, and splatterpunk is the toilet in the back of that ghetto."
Words to live by.
Overall, I had a fun time. I don't regret going. So boom!
